From November 2019 to May 2020, Dominik Bönisch, scientific project manager of »Training the Archive,« completed the so-called KI-Schule (AI School) of the Lower Saxony Foundation. Together with 20 tech-savvy and experimental cultural workers from all disciplines, they learned basic programming skills in the Python programming language. The course took place primarily via online content consisting of VOD lectures and programming tasks, as well as seven days of attendance in Hanover, Germany.

The results of the AI School were incorporated into the first Prototype of »Training the Archive« (see Working Paper #1).

A summary interview with graduate Dominik Bönisch is available here (in German):

»Training the Archive« (2020–2023) is a research project that explores the possibilities and risks of AI in relation to the automated structuring of museum collection data to support curatorial practice and artistic production.
